Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known who or what is performing the action. So, in some cases, it would be a better option than active voice. An example could be formal cases such as articles in which we try to imply that the information matters more than the person who has done the research or written the article. That being said, let's take a closer look at active/passive voice.
